Capacity Building

We have over two decades worth of experience working with international brands, manufacturers and producers  to improve working conditions in factories

Often, brands and retailers do not have the resources or expertise to work with sites within their supply chain to drive improvements and may also be hindered by a lack of scalable solutions. We work with you to identify and implement capacity building opportunities.

What We Do

Through our capacity building programmes, we empower suppliers, as a critical friend, to improve management systems and shift mindsets as we believe these are the two fundamental pillars necessary to improve human rights performance:

Pillar 1

Strengthen management systems

By strengthening key management systems including health and safety, productivity, communication and effective HR processes, we help sites establish the foundations necessary to generate positive social performance and enhanced commercial benefits. These practical tools help sites tackle some of the most pressing challenges factories face today such as high turnover rates and absenteeism, poor wages, long working hours, sub-optimal health and safety and poor labour standards.

Pillar 2

Shift mindsets

Through our action plans and skills training we help managers understand the shift in perspective that is necessary to make the changes that will improve relationships. Sub-optimal relationship dynamics are often a key barrier to transformation and if we are to create better jobs for workers and better performing supply chains, we must work to create better relationships between workers and management.
