
Between 2023 and 2025, Impactt delivered a capacity building and remediation programme to a luxury fashion brand, supporting a supplier in Thailand to address over 40 labour non-compliances and strengthen ethical recruitment and working conditions.
Following an audit, key issues identified included recruitment fees paid by workers, unsafe working conditions, excessive overtime, sub-standard living conditions and lack of access to grievance mechanisms. Our tailored Supplier Improvement Programme involved root cause analysis, action planning, direct management support, and three rounds of worker and leadership training. We also provided support on recruitment fee calculation and repayment, as well as subsequent verification of remediation progress.
The impact of our work:
- Full compliance achieved: All identified non-compliances were resolved and maintained.
- Ethical recruitment enforced: Recruitment fees were fully reimbursed in three instalments.
- Safer workplaces: New health and safety roles, structured training, and monitoring systems significantly reduced accidents.
- Empowered workforce: Regular worker-management meetings improved trust and communication.
- Sustainable policy reforms: Strengthened contracts ensured fee-free recruitment, while updated grievance mechanisms empowered workers.
